Behind every event lies a team of professional planners and managers, who take responsibility for coordinating and bringing together each key element of the event. From the smallest business meetings to the largest global music festivals, an event is the product of careful planning, execution and management.
It is the management process allowing an event to be planned, articulated, prepared, executed, controlled and assessed involving constraints of time, place, budget, quality, people, and other resources to achieve the goals of the event.
Whether working alone or as part of a wider team, it’s the job of the event planner to take the vision of those hosting the event and bring it to life. From choosing the venue to layout to marketing to the health and safety of every participant, it is a multidisciplinary role of extreme responsibility. Event planners and managers are therefore required to have enormous self-discipline, determination, ambition and creative vision.
